***Maria
On the way to the church, Slade felt me trembling in front of him.
Slade: Maria?
Maria: (scared)Slade...What the h-hell... was that thing?
Slade: (he kept his eyes on the road) I don't know. But whatever it is, it's not worth to deal with.
Maria: Slade?
Slade:Yes, Maria?
Maria: Are you...scared?
Slade: (he took a moment to reply) Yes.
Maria: (I turned my head to face him) You are? But...you're Slade.
Slade: (He chuckled) Yes, I know. I'm afraid to lose you. You are one of my best apprentice's.
Maria: (I looked away from him) Oh...
The two of us arrived by the church moments later. Slade parked beside the wall. I got off and removed my helmet. Will and James came jogging out of the Church and to Slade and me.
They found us, and they leaded us to a church with a priest waiting outside of it. Just when we got there, I started hear shouts of fear and monstrous howls.
Will: Hurry up, you have to get inside, they won't enter here (and I got inside, and when I did, I saw some of Blood's students there, trembling of horror. I was passing through the people when I saw Gizmo talking to himself and trembling)
Gizmo: those eyes... that smile... that laugh...- I got near him.
Maria: Gizmo?
Gizmo: Maria... you have seen him too, don't you? You are trembling. (I looked myself and he was right, I was still trembling)
Billy: Maria! (he came running towards me and hugged me tightly) Are ya alright?! Oh good lord, you're trembling! Did that black man get to ya too?! (He hugged me) I'm so sorry.
Maria: (I whispered) B-Billy. You don't need to apologize. I'm unharmed. Just frightened.
Billy: I'm sorry i wasn't there for you, Maria.
Slade noticed me and Billy together. His eyes suddenly glared at us. He walked over to me
The students mumbled to each other as they saw Slade pass by them.
Slade: (angry) Maria.
Maria: (whispering) shit...
Slade: Come with me. (he said dangerously)
Maria: (I looked back at Billy and let him go) I'll be right back.
Billy: (he stroked my cheek, leaned forward and kissed me passionately) Don't take to long. (he whispered)
Slade: (with his voice more angry and impatient) Now, Maria. (he ordered)
I followed Slade to the corner of the church. There was a door there, he opened it and we bother entered the room. He slams the door shut and locks it from the inside. His back facing me
Maria: Slade, i can expla-- (Slade backhanded my face. I fell to the floor)
Slade: What is the meaning of this, Maria? (He said dangerously as he approached my side)
Maria: (With my hands and legs, I brought myself up. Slade kicked me and I fell back down) S...Slade...stop...UGH! (He kicked me again. I was now against a wall)
Slade: (he picked me up from my shirt. My feet dangling ten inches off the floor. He glared into my eyes) I will not allow you to be distracted in this Billy.
Maria: (Blood drips down from the side of my mouth) I...I can do w-whatever...I want, you stupid shit...
Slade: (he punched me in the gut. It hurted more because my back was against the wall. I spited out more blood. Some splattered on Slade's mask)
Tears streamed down to the sides of my face. I was helpless, afraid and most of all, frightened.
Slade: (he droped me onto the floor. I laid there, weak. He passed me and approached the door) You are to break your relationship with Billy. I don't want you to get distracted on what you are supposed to do. If you don't follow my order, you know what will happen (With that said, Slade opened the door and left the room. Leaving me laying on the floor weak, bleeding, and crying)
A moment passed by and I was there weak, alone, and crying. Suddenly Will passed in front of the room and noticed me bleeding.
Will: Maria?! what happenend? (he asked worried)
Maria: nothing... (I answered looking down)
Will: you are bleeding and...!
Maria: I SAID NOTHING! (he looked me more worried)
Will: OK, if you don't want to tell me... it's alright, but at least let me help you. (he said as he was carrying me)
Will carried me out of the room. Everyone turned to face us two, surprised. Billy was the most surprised. He ran towards us.
Billy: Oh my god, Maria! What did that man do to you?
Slade was leaning on the side of the wall. Feet's away to where I was. He watched her.
Maria: (Tears streamed down my cheeks) I'm so sorry, Billy.
Billy: (confused) What? Why are you apologizing?
Maria: (I was crying) I'm sorry...but it's over.
Billy: (he was in shock. Not understanding why) No, it's not.
Maria: (I was curling my fist, and looking away from Billy) yes it is. It's over. I cannot have a you distracting what my purpose is. I'm sorry....
Billy: (sad) Can i ask at least why? (he placed a strokes my cheek)
Maria: (I shoved him away) I...I don't love you anymore. You're never there for me when i need you! (I lied) I no longer want to see your face, ever again. (I looked away from him. Digging my face on Will's chest)
Billy: Maria... (he curled his hands into a fist) Fine! I no longer want ta see yer face ever again too! (he yelled, angry and sad) Good bye, Maria. (Billy left me)
Maria: (I sobbed on Will's chest. Hating what I was ordered to do)
Slade: (he smirked behind his mask) Good work, Apprentice. (he smirked)
Will carried me until we got to the roof of the church, where Centinel was giving orders to some of Blood's students that were already cured of the horror.
Centinel: I want at least 5 people guarding the roof every night! HE didn't came here alone, and he will order his forces to find us! Just one thing, stay hidden! (I was confused, I worked out that we will be staying here for some time, but why?)
Maria: Will... why are we staying?
Will: As the enemy, we didn't came here alone too, so we will wait here for some of our friends. (he answered, then we entered to the room where were all the giant bells, he let me down slowly in a table)
Will: he loves you... (he suddenly said) ... and you love him, I can see it.
Maria: you don't know it... (I answered sadly)
Will: maybe not, but I have seen this kind of things before, I'm not the one that can help you in this... but I know someone, Fanny, my sister, can help you... you will like her when you meet her. (he said smiling at me, he obviously don't know I have lied and that Slade ordered me to break up with Billy, but he wanted to help me...)
Maria: I have no time to make friends, Will...Why do you want to help me? I don't even believe that you even like me. No one does, anymore...
Will: ha, have you got crazy? (he said smiling) I do like you! And no matter what Maria! you will be always my friend! even if you are a villain and you don't want to admit it!... (he looked at me with a lovely look) ... you know what, before coming here, we all decided that we might need help even from villains, I didn't liked the idea as you didn't liked to help us. But then, someone very wise told us, that after this war, no matter if we win or lose, there will never exist heroes and villains... (he paused for a moment) ... he said that we all will be brothers and sisters, fighting joined against an enemy that we all share with the most powerful weapon we have...hope.
Maria: (I looked up at him) Prove it then. Prove it that you like me! (I wanted to get that thought out of my head, before I could reply to anything else)
Will looked at me confused, then he suddenly stealed a kiss from me, and got back instantly.
Will: I'm sorry... (we looked at each other for a moment, then he turned his back to me, and went ahead towards the exit)
Will: I'll send you Centinel to cure your wounds... (he said suddenly) me and James will go back to our house for something we need, while we do, stay here, this is the only place safe now... (and he left me alone over the table)
I stoped Will by grabbing onto his hand. He turned to face me. I pulled his arm down, so I could reach him. I kissed him back. This time we stayed like that for 10 seconds. I ended the kiss and looked at him.
Maria: No, need to apologize. (I whispered) My wounds can heal themselves. I have the ability to heal, but it's slow. Please stay Will. I need the company after what just happened today.
Will hugged me lovely and looked to the horizon.
Will: alright... I will stay here, I will tell James to go for the transmisor with another person, maybe with Centinel (I looked back him lovely and thankful)
Maria: Thank you...
Will: that is what friends are for... (he said smiling)
